WOD

W.O.D. (Work Out of the Day) classes last around an hour and start with a warm-up, then either skill/strength work, followed by the workout of the day (WOD). All CrossFit workouts can be scaled to each individual’s fitness level, whether that be modifying the movement itself, using lighter weight, performing less reps, working for a shorter duration, etc. As you continue to make gains in strength and your overall aerobic capacity improves, the movements will become easier and less scaling becomes necessary.

FOUNDATIONS

Why do we require Foundations?

In order to properly prepare new members for our CrossFit program, Grove CrossFit offers a Foundations course. This course consists of 4 to 5 private training sessions with a dedicated coach during where you will receive instruction on various CrossFit movements, assess mobility issues, and discuss proper scaling techniques. The Foundations program must be completed prior to attending our regularly scheduled CrossFit classes.

OPEN BOX

Open Box is run like any other class in terms of pre-registration and attendance policy. The coach on duty ensures that the space remains organized and safe during the class. Members review their training plan for the day with the coach on duty, but there will be no formal group instruction during this class. All members are welcome to sign up for Open Box classes once they have completed their Foundations classes.
